Products that make fine hair look thicker.

Hello, I hope you are all Okay and have had a good week so far…

Today, I thought I would talk hair products and how to make fine hair look thicker. I naturally have fine, straight hair, that can look a bit flat, which I find can be very frustrating.

I will put a few pictures of my hair below, but I feel a little weird posting selfies on my blog for some reason?! If you want to see more pictures of my hair then I will leave my Instagram here, as that’s got a fair few selfies on haha…

I have tried sooo many different hair products that claim to make hair look thicker/more voluminous; but I have finally found some products that work for me and hopefully, may help you too if you have finer hair and struggle to make it look, well, alive…

Thicker Hair

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray

I have mentioned this product before in my Holiday Beauty Essentials , but this is an amazing salt spray that gives my hair more texture. I use this product two ways, the first way by spritzing it evenly onto damp hair and then using my hands to ‘scrunch’ my hair whilst using a hairdryer. The other way I use this product is on dry hair. Once I have blow-dried my hair and curled it using my curling wand (it’s a very old, I think it may be Babyliss), I then spritz a small amount onto my hair to give it more of a messy, less ‘done’ effect.
Something to bare in mind, like I have said before, is that you don’t need a lot of this product, especially if used on dry hair, as it can sometimes feel a bit sticky.

Aveda Thickening Tonic

This thickening tonic is amazing. It says on the bottle it instantly thickens and it really does. I use this styling spray by tipping my head upside down whilst it is damp and spraying it at my roots. I then use a Tangle Teezer to comb through my hair to evenly distribute the product, before blow drying and styling as usual.
Once dry, my hair instantly feels more voluminous and thicker, I really do notice a difference if I haven’t used this. Again, like the Bumble and Bumble surf spray, you don’t need a lot of this product as it can feel tacky in the hair.  Also, if you apply it directly on the top of your head, it can make your hair look a little greasy which that’s why I tip my head upside down.

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish

This product is an all time favourite of mine! It’s an amazing finishing spray which I use on my roots after curling to give more volume and texture. Like the surf spray, this product creates a relaxed, undone style.

This product is designed to add lift and texture that lasts, and it really does. It also includes conditioning agents and ingredients (such as sunflower extract), to help protect your hair against environmental damage!

So that is my round up of the products I use that help my fine hair look a little thicker! Just a quick note, I don’t necessarily use all of the above products at the same time, but they all give me the effect I am looking for!
Let me know if you have discovered any products that help give you more volume…

    1. Hello! I know, it’s so tricky to get it looking fuller! Yes I find that some salt sprays do that to my hair aswell but found this one works well for me.
      Thankyou 😊 xx
