Travel | Our Trip to Cornwall.

Hello, How are you all?

Me and James decided to spend a few days away during February half term in Cornwall, England. I got a little snap happy whilst we were there (I finally have a new phone, with a better camera!) so thought it would be fun to share them with you.

Seagull Cottage

We ended up staying near beautiful Padstow in a place called Wadebridge, which was approx. 12 minutes away (in a car) from Padstow Harbour. We stayed in the cutest, cosiest cottage (which was appropriately named Seagull Cottage – more on that later…) that we found, relatively cheap, on a website called Holiday Cottages.  

I couldn’t recommend the cottage enough, it was the perfect base for us to go out and explore the surrounding parts of Cornwall. The Cottage is very secure, situated in a courtyard near a quiet country pub and has ample parking, which is great. It was perfect for our 3 night stay, but we would have happily stayed longer as it had everything you could possibly need for a longer stay.

The cottage had a big log burner, which would be lovely to snuggle up in front of when its cold outside… Although we didn’t actually use this because A. We didn’t really understand how it worked (haha) and B. It wasn’t actually that cold!

On Monday, the first full day we were there, it turned into to a beautiful blue sky day. We decided to take a ride into Padstow, which is a quaint little harbour town.

We had a potter around the town, venturing into all the independent shops and looking at all the lovely houses that I wouldn’t mind living in (maybe one day?!). We then went for a stroll around the harbour which was so picturesque.

Fun fact – straight after this photo was taken, a seagull landed on my head and flew away with my ice cream. It was so funny and un-expected, I really wish some one had filmed it!

In the evening, we drove to Harlyn Bay which is just down the road from Padstow. We wanted to have a stroll along the beach and look at the sea (seeing as we were in Cornwall) and James wanted to see the waves! It was the perfect time to go as it was so quiet, there were more dogs on the beach than people and I was 100% Okay with this!

The Next day, we decided to visit Port Isaac as neither of us had been before. Port Isaac is a little fishing port, which is famous due to the British television series Doc Martin that is filmed there.

Port Isaac is so pretty, with quaint little fisherman’s cottages located within its winding streets. I would definitely recommend having a visit if you are in the area, however there is not too much to do there as it’s so small, so you wouldn’t need a full day.

That concludes our little trip away during February half term. We found it to be the perfect time to go as it was so peaceful (it was way out of season!), and we also got really lucky with the weather. We are already planning our return trip and would go back to the cottage where we stayed in a heart beat.
